BASIC PRINTING SETTING:

Extruder Temperature: 230-250°   Bed Temperature: 95-110°C     Fan Speed: 0%

BUILD SURFACE OPTIONS:

  • Kapton Tape 
  • ABS Slurry

ADVANCED PRINT SETTINGS: 

  • Extrusion Multiplier: Fine tune the multiplier as needed between the range of 1 and 1.05 Note that in some FDM printers this metric is referred to as “Flow Rate” instead of “Extrusion Multiplier”
  • Print Speed
    • Travel  Speed: 150mm/s
    • Bottom Layer Speed: 30mm/s
    • Infill Speed: 60mm/s
    • Top/Bottom Speed: 40mm/s
    • Outer Shell Speed: 40mm/s
    • Inner Shell Speed: 60mm/s
  • Infill: Keep infill between 8-12% for standard modeling, end use pieces may require more
  • Retraction Settings: Minimum Travel=1.5mm, Enable All Combining,.005mm minimal extrusion before retraction, Z Hop When Retracting: .1mm
  • First Layer Settings:  Include 4 top and bottom layers. Height 130%, Width 100%, Speed 30%. 
  • Support Settings:
    • Structure Type: Line
    • Overhang Angle for Support: 45°
    • Fill Amount: 23%
    • Distance X/Y: 0.7mm
    • Distance Z: 0.13mm
  • Post Processing: Acetone can add great glossy aesthetic to an ABS print. CAUTION ACETONE IS HIGHLY FLAMMABLE

  • Add a print enclosure to trap heat and work with ABS in a well-ventilated space. Begin with the initial settings provided above. 

  • Increase bed and extruder temperature slightly.
